Imagine blaming end users because they can't download a game without using a workaround I've been sitting here downloading the base game for 3 hours and then the launcher decided at 30% it couldn't download data forcing me to start again, I don't use a vpn and I made sure to deal with anything that could interfere Just for giggles, I had another system here that I brought online with a fresh Windows 10 install. I attempted to download FFXIV one more time as a last ditch effort and it errored out right at: 540+ MB on this file: H2014.05.27.0000.0000a.patch. I've been trying for two days now to download the update. It always stops me at 321MGB and tells me "unable to download patch files" . I've uinstalled and reinstalled the client and it still does the same thing. when I had this problem on ps4 the onlythings that worked were switching my internet (I used my brothers phone as a hot spot) which I had to do again for the next few patches. Then I switched my DNS to Googles, which seems to have fixed it for over a year now.

I've gone through every trouble shoot. I've deleted the game So i have great news if you are using the ffxiv client. Instead go to steam download the free trial and it will install 8 gb and then you will get the launcher. Sign in and bam done. So the TL DR use steam and get the trial version to download the game. Then if you want move the files somewhere else or whatever. I hope this works for others.
